I was just posting on a forum I frequent that it shouldn't be too hard to write a spell checking extension for Firefox, seeing as how all the required components are available in the parent Mozilla application. For those who struggle with spelling, or just type faster than they think, this is an excellent extension. Installation is a little awkward on Linux (hint: install as root, then install into your profile), but it works very well.
